Our Process

Initial

Meeting

Our process begins with an introductory consultation with Madeleine to get to know each other. Residential design is an extremely personal process and we want to make sure we’re the perfect fit for you. Communication, comfort, and understanding is key. We will discuss in detail what your needs, wishes, timeline, and budget are. After this meeting, we will create a detailed proposal outlining the scope of work, deliverables, and pricing structure for your approval.

Layout & Planning

Once you have us on board, we will begin creating a functional space plan tailored to you. These space plans will be implemented into a set of permit drawings to be submitted for approval, if applicable.

If you’re working on a larger scale project and already have an architect involved, we can work with them. If you are not sure if you need an architect or other professional consultants, we are here to educate you on the process.

Concept Development

It is important to us that your home best represents you. Based on our conversations, we will curate a concept package that speaks to the aesthetic and overall feel of the house that you are wanting to achieve. We will review the concept package together to ensure the project is going in the right creative direction. Your feedback is very important, as it guides us in creating your dream.

Initial Design Meeting

The initial design meeting is where we begin to look at materials for your project. We will educate you on different material options, learn about what you’re most attracted to, find out about your daily habits and discuss in more depth the overall functionality of your home. We have an extensive design library and resources to cater to your interests.

Refined Design Meeting

As we begin to refine the vision based on your feedback from the previous meeting, we will present a fully developed package of materials and drawings in 2D and 3D (if applicable) to review and discuss. We will work with you to hone in on details like lighting specifics, storage requirements, and much more!

Depending on the size of your project, there will likely be multiple meetings to cover all these very important details. Meetings will be outlined in your fee proposal.

Comprehensive Design Meeting

A cohesive design package will be presented at this meeting, including:

  • Construction drawing package (including; floorplans, elevations and finishes plans).
  • Specifications package detailing all materials, finishes and fixtures.
  • 3D renderings (if applicable).

An ‘issued for pricing’ package will be sent after this meeting for your contractor to provide you with a high-level budget. We pride ourselves on ensuring your vision is in tandem with your budget and timeline for a smooth design and construction process.

Sign Off Meeting

During our final sign off meeting, we will review all drawings and specifications with you, along with any changes made after the budget review with your contractor. Once the design is signed off, we will follow up with an ‘issued for construction’ package for implementation by your contractor.

Construction Process

We are here to ensure a seamless process during the construction phase. We work closely and collaboratively with the contractors, performing virtual walkthroughs or in person site visits during crucial stages, to ensure the project is being executed in a timely and accurate manner. We are highly experienced in large scale renovations and new construction. An important role we play during construction is resolving any unexpected scenarios that may arise in an efficient and timely manner.
